19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev won his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid year, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-term coach his previous coach.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.
It is the player's maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface after March of 2023.
Victory also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one different competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, including in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had caused observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.
But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
The champion came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the last five points to take the lead.
Both players swapped break points in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his initial tour victory, took control to create a final set.
He rescued 4 initial chances in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, he earned victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
